theatre photography

Theatre photography covers a full production play or theatre presentation. I photograph a full run of any play or theatre presentation during a full dress/tech rehearsal. basically the entire play is run as it would for a paying audience in an empty theatre for the purpose of photographing the entire performance. There is an option for scene setups, I personally discouraged this option, but will do it if it cannot be avoided.

The performers are to be informed of my presence, and explained that I will be moving around, in front, and at times on stage.

I will respect the space of the action and move around the blocking sometimes, but will always be aware of the space the actor occupies and will be mindful not to disrupt too much the performance. the entire purpose being to get the best imagery that describes the show/performance being recorded.

Event Photography

I’ll shoot just about any sort of party or small gathering you might have in mind; birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, gallery openings, art exhibits, record release party, special ceremonies, fundraisers, book releases, wrap parties, you name it, I’ll shoot it for you. If you don’t want to worry about capturing all those memories instead of enjoying your party, then let me shoot it for you. I’ll make sure I get candid shots through out the event and capture all those key moments you don’t want to miss.

Private parties

Are you having a birthday party with friends and family ? celebrating a graduation, or a big anniversary ? I will photograph your private event so you don’t have to. I’ll move discreetly about the party to make sure to catch funny moments, friends mingling and the like. You’ll get a comprehensive record of the evening, I’ll make sure to hit all the key moments of the night so that you have a good choice of images to post to social media and share with friends and loved ones.

corporate events

Celebrating a new milestone with industry or work colleagues ? Organizing a charity event ? I’ll keep a record of the event, participants and general ambiance for all your promotion purposes and social media posts. I’ll make sure I hit any key moments you can foresee and try not to miss any you don’t.

portraits

A portrait is different than a headshot in that it reveals a lot more about your personality and style. it’s more personal and intimate. I like looking at classical paintings for inspiration, both as a starting point or a recreation. Alternatively, a more personal style of portraiture might let the viewer in by surrounding the subject with the environment that defines them.

environmental portrait

In the environmental portrait the subject is enhanced by their surroundings, these become extensions of their personalities letting the viewers get to know a more intimate aspect of their self.

music performance photography

There are a few categories in which to divide the services we offer to musicians;

live music performance

As the title says, this is when I come to a show and photograph the artists while they are performing live in front of an audience. I will be on stage with the performers and around the audience, if there is an orchestra space between the audience and the stage, wings, and/or a backstage area I’ll need full access to them to have the most options for shots. Often in a big show I prefer only shooting through the first three songs or so, unless the band wants me to do otherwise, this guarantees that the audience won’t find the wondering photographer annoying, or distracting to their experience.

Rehearsals

I often like to come to band rehearsals to take shots of the band members, this is a sort of behind the scenes, I think it produces an intimate sort of take of the band which their fans tend to like. These can be added to the live performance package or done separately.

Recording Studio sessions

Like the rehearsal shots shooting at the recording studio opens up the band to their fans offering an inside look to how their favorite musicians get things done, how hard they work, and again gives a documentary style behind the scenes inside look into the inner workings of their favorite music being produced. This too can be done as a package add on or a separate booking. There are no camera clicks or other noises produced by the photographic equipment, so sometimes I can even be in the studio space with the musicians.

Album art/lifestyle

Album art shoots are much different, these tend to be more planned, with specific shots in mind and may involve several locations. A make-up artist and stylist are not a bad idea for these shots, but are not absolutely necessary. I often have artists I have worked with in the past that I can offer, or the the band can bring their own. Make-up and stylist are separate costs not included in any of the packages.

I’m bundling commercial, lifestyle and editorial style photography together here, whether you need to illustrate a story, article, text, product or idea… or you need original content for a blog, website, business or your social media account. it can be any genre: fashion, street portraits, photo-journalism, sports, etc. editorial style photography is where it is at.

Weather it is for the company website or your LinkedIn account, a business headshot will make the best first impression to perspective clients and/or headhunters looking for the perfect candidate.
